I believe it’s time to introduce myself a bit more indepth and also tell everyone who doesn’t know me who I am an what I do.
As some of you are aware (and others might find out by looking at my pictures in the galleries), I have a passion for aviation, and another for photography.
These two things started in my youth and I blame my mom and dad (especially my dad) for these hobbies. In my school years I started taking my bike out to the main airport in Stockholm (Arlanda) to look at and take pictures of the planes taking off and landing.
Years later after I was done with my high school I got myself a job at the same Airport helping passengers with reduced mobility. At the same time I got myself my first digital camera, a 6MP Nikon D100 which back then was an amazing camera. That camera and a new discoverd passion for photography lead me to contact the governmentally owned company that run the Airport and that I was also employed by, but now to be allowed to work for them as a photographer. They let me start with some easy assignments and I learned quite a lot during that first time. In the beginning the results was ”okay” (well sometimes not even ”okay” if I can judge myself) but over time I got better and better at what I did and have reached a level where I feel confident with almost any kind of assignment.
Now almost 11 years since I started I can say that I’ve taken pictures of president Barrack Obama, of people hanging in ropes from the ATC Tower at Arlanda airport and I’ve taken pictures at multiple events at the airport. I’ve also been lucky enough to be allowed to take pictures for a lot of wedding couples.
On a cold February morning in 2008 I found myself in the seat of a SAS flight bound for Florida, US. I was gonna persuade my long dream of becoming a pilot. It took me two years in the US, and another two years in Sweden to be done but in June 2012 I went for a job interview for a mayor airline and today I work as a first officer on a Boeing 737-800 flying out of Malaga, Spain to destinations all over Europe.
I still have my passion for my photography and I have no intentions to sell my camera, on the contrary. My intentions are to keep improving, learn more and invest in a new camera and lenses and as you can now see I’ve put together this new website.
My plans for the future is to keep doing the jobs I do with the customers I have. I want to continue doing a couple of weddings per year and try to improve and perfect the special timelapse concept! More info about timelapses will be published in a later post on this blog and I will also show some of my projects on the webpage soon!
Somewhere earlier in another post I promised to tell a bit more about my working days flying out of Brussels Zaventem. So I’ll finish of with a few pictures from my days here! I’ve been doing flights to Portugal, and Spain from here, a couple of different destinations and its been quite nice flying from here! Perhaps id publish more pictures or more info in another blogpost at a later stage, but for now this will have to do!
Now that is some facts and info about me, hope you found it interesting to read. And I promisse to do my best to post more longer posts with some nice pictures! For now, all the best…
